Elizabeth & Curt – Great Falls Virginia Engagement Photography

Elizabeth and Curt have a certain ease and comfort with each other that is hard to miss. They were up for anything I suggested (including some gentle rock climbing) and nailed the snuggle sessions I made them do. Great Falls offered the perfect variety of backdrops – couldn’t have asked for a better day!

Liana & Zach – Spring Hill Manor Wedding Photography

What an incredible day! It was a bit of a roller coaster, weather-wise, but I’ve never seen a bride as chill as Liana. She smiled the whole entire time and nothing at all phased her. This was one of those times that doing a First Look and seeing each other before the ceremony was key. Watching the storm roll toward us in the sky was like watching a ticking countdown and it did not disappoint. Crazy wind and rain so the ceremony was moved indoors, but after it passed we lucked out with one of the most amazing sunsets. Still can’t get over it! And Liana and Zach were the perfect couple for such an occasion because they are the best models, really. So sweet and loving to one another, and super natural in front of the camera.

Winger Family – Annapolis Family Photography

Lindsay and Josh are some of the kindest and best people I know, and I’m privileged to call them my friends. It’s such a treat seeing their kids grow up in real life and from behind the lens! We all just ran around the backyard for these, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Dooley Family – Annapolis Baby Photography

I love this family! It’s always heartwarming to see past couples I’ve photographed doing so well, and an honor to meet their new little ones. Macklin is just the cutest with his blue eyes and red hair. And look at that smile!

Shannon & John – Maryland Renaissance Festival Engagement Photography

This session will always be a memorable one for me because I nearly died in a hot air balloon the same morning. (Ok, ok, I exaggerate, but it was a pretty exciting landing.) As it sometimes happens in life, my perfectly planned morning did not go as planned, and I had to call Shannon and John and beg to delay the shoot by an hour. Fortunately, they were nothing but kind and understanding, and welcomed the extra time. Whew! With that resolved, I could focus on their awesome engagement shoot location – the Maryland Renaissance Festival grounds in the off-season! What a neat experience. It’s actually where Shannon and John met, and a big part of their lives every year (John is in a band and a show). It could not have been more perfect for these two (or me – photographer’s dream) and we all had a blast walking around and sharing some cider and snacks they came prepared with. Thanks for the opportunity, guys!

Ashley & Mark – Lake Linganore Engagement Photography

When I suggested Ashley and Mark pick a spot for their engagement photos that had special meaning for them, they immediately thought of Lake Linganore. I had never been, but always welcome the opportunity to shoot somewhere new. They have this awesome lake and beach in their neighborhood and it was perfect! Ashley worried that there wouldn’t be enough spots to work with, but not the case at all. We even found bamboo! :)

Meet Kyle! (St. Louis Family Photography)

It’s always an honor and privilege to get to photograph my friends. I met Nick and Sarah 5+ years ago when I showed up to shoot their engagement session and discovered they lived in the same apartment building as my then-fiancé. It was almost an instant friendship consisting of lots of pool time and probably an equal amount of Bruster’s ice cream, and I have loved them ever since. Then they moved and ruined it all! Haha, only kidding. Sure do miss ‘em, but I’m so happy to see them happy in St. Louis (where they managed to acquire a house and a dog and a new baby basically all within a year.) I was lucky enough to get to spend a long weekend out there recently and meet baby Kyle for the first time. Who, let’s be honest, is ridiculously adorable. (See for yourself.) Thanks guys – I’m looking forward to many visits in the future and knowing I always having a home away from home!

Colleen & Colin – Washington DC Engagement Photography

I met Colleen and Colin on a beautiful weekday afternoon near the US Botanic Gardens, which has normally a fantastic view of the Capitol… but not only is the Capitol dome still scaffolded, the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial with all the pretty statues was completely covered up too. But all the flowers were blooming and things were green and gorgeous and I loved all the pretty light! Our next stop was Yards Park, where we roamed around Nats Stadium and found some sweet spots to shoot. Colin and Colleen are so easy to talk to and fun to be around – I’m really looking forward to their DC wedding extravaganza this fall!
