Virginia & Adam – Mount Vernon Inn Wedding Photography

Did I mention I got a new camera? The incredibly incredible Canon 5D Mark III – finally a camera from Canon that delivers all it promises. I’ve had it about a month now, and I am unabashedly in love. Anyway, I will always remember Ginny and Adam’s wedding as the start of this beautiful love story, as it was the first wedding I shot with the Mark III. Ha.

Okay, enough gushing about my gear… let’s talk for a minute about how awesome this wedding was! Ginny was one of those brides who literally never stopped smiling the entire day. She and Adam chose to see each other before the wedding, and we had a blast riding into DC on a bus with all sixteen of their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Time ran a little short, so we only got to stop at the Lincoln Memorial and the Capitol, but it was enough for some beautiful photos!
Their ceremony and reception was back at the Mount Vernon Inn, a venue I always look forward to shooting at for its beauty, character and, of course, delicious food. :)

Erika & Jason – Ft Smallwood Park Engagement Photographer

If I had to guess, I’d say Erika and Jason are one of those couples with a zillion silly photos of themselves, but no serious ones. Juuuust a hunch. Jason kept both me and Erika laughing with his antics, but despite the goofing off, he really pulled through when I needed him to. (Don’t worry, I took plenty of silly photos too.) :)

I learned that Erika and Jason met in a theater production, and their natural ability to convey emotion was crazy awesome! I barely had to give them any direction at all and I think they nailed it!

Hannah & Chris – Mount Vernon (Baltimore) Engagement Photography

It’s always fun when I get to photograph couples in a location with special meaning for them. I met Hannah and Chris at their Mount Vernon Place apartment in Baltimore (super cute, and now I want to copy all their furniture, haha) and we headed out to scope out the surrounding blocks. They pointed out the spot where they met, and where Chris proposed. Hannah and I bonded over our mutual love for Texas, and although I’m disappointed I won’t get to photograph their wedding there, I know it will be awesome!

Shannon & Fredy – Baltimore Hilton Wedding Photographer

So far, my 2012 weddings have been AWESOME. Like, seriously awesome. And Shannon and Fredy’s wedding was no exception. Listen up, future 2012 brides, because you have a lot to live up to! Haha. I really really love some of the photos I shot at this wedding, and I hope you will too.I started the day at Shannon’s parents’ beautiful waterfront house in Severna Park, and my killer second shooter Stephen (of Mud Productions) met the guys at Fredy’s parents’ house in Millersville. We met up for the ceremony at St. John’s the Evangelist. Shannon had warned me that there might not be a lot of great photo potential at the church, but the way the light was coming in made for some of my favorite images of the day! Although she and Fredy chose not to see each other before the ceremony, they definitely made time for photos afterward. We got probably about half an hour more time than usual, and we used it to the max! With the extra minutes, we explored the hotel and found some unique indoor spots for photos since it was freezing outside.

Sarah & Andrew – Engineers Club Wedding Photography

Believe it or not, this was my first Engineers Club wedding! The Engineers Club is such an iconic part of Baltimore history, and a gorgeous venue for weddings, so I was pretty excited to experience it firsthand.

Sarah and Andrew met and live in London. Sarah is American; Andrew is English. It was so much fun watching their families come together and celebrate one big cross-cultural wedding.

And thanks to Stephen of Mud Productions for once again helping me shoot. This is definitely one wedding I wouldn’t have been able to cover all by myself!

Yuna & Michael – Richmond Wedding Photography

I’ve been putting off this post for a while because there’s just SO MUCH AWESOMENESS to talk about with this wedding. I’m gonna try and keep it short.

From their six-tiered cake to the personalized menus, Yuna and Michael’s wedding pretty rockin’ in every way. Everything was monogrammed (including the dance floor) and the uplighting by Blue Steel Lighting brought the reception room at the Jefferson Hotel to a whole new level! One of my personal favorite touches was the “miracle berry” station. If you’ve never seen them before, miracle berries are these awesome fruit-tablets that you dissolve in your mouth and they actually change your palate. For real. Like, highly acidic things suddenly become sweet. I sucked on one of these tablets and then I was eating lemons like they were candy. It was the weirdest thing.

Oh yeah, and this wedding was published in the Richmond Times-Dispatch. No big deal. You can read the article here.

Serena – Annapolis Portrait Photography

Sometimes it’s fun to just take photos of people you know, for no real reason at all.

Serena is an awesome photographer in the Baltimore area (check out her company: Love by Serena) and we’ve been hanging out ever since we hit it off at a networking event last year. Aside from being totally fun and a great partner in Rock Band, she’s also my new fashion consultant. Haha. (I’m totally not kidding about this part.)

And clearly, she’s beautiful! She was a much better model for me than I was for her. :)

Libby & Jason – Belvedere Wedding Photography

What a fun wedding! It just what I needed to get me excited about all of my 2012 weddings. I had only one wedding in January (which I still plan on blogging about), then nothing for the whole month of February, so by the time Libby and Jason’s wedding rolled around at the beginning of March I was pretty ready to do some serious shooting!

This couple is the real deal. Their love was written all over their faces – I don’t think Jason could have smiled any bigger if he tried!

Marcella & Morris – Mount Vernon Inn Wedding Photography

The 100-hour wedding, as we all started to call it. Planned and executed in under 100 hours!

Morris and Marcella were already engaged, but decided to go ahead and get married during the week that Morris was supposed to be in training for work (but ended up having the time off) and Marcella was home for a quick R&R.; Their story is a unique one, chock full of “meant-to-be” moments and stories of faith after it began in Baghdad four years ago.

This is just a friendly reminder that I do photography other than weddings too! Take these headshots for example. Who doesn’t love a great headshot? Not only can you update your Linkedin account, you can give one to your mom for Mother’s Day. :)
