Jenna & Tommy – Herrington on the Bay Engagement Photography

Jenna suggested Herrington on the Bay when we were brainstorming location ideas with a beach, and I jumped at the chance to shoot there again. It’s serene and beautiful, and I feel like my time there for weddings is always so short. And then she mentioned that Tommy has a boat named Wedding Crasher at the marina, and I gave her no more options. Perfect location! Jenna and Tommy are really great together, totally cute and playful, and I was amused by all of Tommy’s many faces (included a few in here for fun.)

Sarah & Corey – Ceresville Mansion Wedding Photography

Sarah and Corey – so much love! That’s what comes to mind when I think about their wedding. Their First Look was one of the sweetest and most tender First Looks I’ve ever seen. I didn’t do engagement photos with these guys, so I was expecting a little initial stiffness but they were so comfortable in front of the camera and totally easy and affectionate. As Marcella (my awesome second shooter) pointed out, Corey gave Sarah the sweetest looks and glances all day long. And he was always doing cute things like kissing her hand or her shoulder with absolutely no prompting from me. Adorable. I also liked watching Corey and Sarah make a real point to spend time with each other throughout the day. They stole several moments alone after the ceremony and even during the reception, keeping it as a wedding should be – all about love and all about them.

Caitlyn & Steve – Belmont Country Club Wedding Photography

This was my first time at Belmont Country Club, and let me say it is GORGEOUS. It didn’t hurt that the weather was absolute perfection – all the crazy storms cleared out in the morning and it was a beautiful mixture of sun and clouds, light breeze and warmth…. ahhhh! And then adding Caitlyn and Steve to this already lovely mix took it to a whole new level. They are so incredibly sweet and I can tell they truly value each other. Steve and Caitlyn are already a family – together they have an adorable boy named Evan, plus Steve’s daughter Brooke. They are living the day-to-day of what most couples don’t usually experience until a few years after the wedding. All these challenges of real life and finishing school and raising a family have only brought them closer together and strengthened their bond. I’m guessing that their honeymoon in Antigua is pretty welcome and highly anticipated! Caitlyn and Steve, I hope you guys have a blast! You deserve it!

Montine & Joey – Alexandria Maternity Photography

So great to see these guys’ faces again! You might remember their beautiful wedding from last year on my blog. I was really happy when Montine contacted me for some maternity photos. Our session actually turned into quite the adventure… getting kicked out of our location for it being after-hours, and then chasing groundhogs at location #2, finding random unknown animal carcasses, and finally avoiding pockets of poison oak. (I now know what that looks like, thanks Montine!) A memorable evening, and a fun one. I liked Montine’s idea to have Joey make the outline of a heart with his hands in paint on her white shirt. Of course it didn’t come out quite as we had envisioned, but nothing a little touch-up paint couldn’t fix! Looked pretty awesome by the end! :) Can’t wait to meet the little one when she arrives in August!

Alex & Chase – London Town Wedding Photography

Alex and Chase… Let’s start by talking about how much Chase hates having his picture taken. Like, a whole lot. Haha. He put grudgingly put up with a short engagement session for Alex, but I don’t think I actually won him over until I photoshopped a ghost in the window of one of the photos (long story.) Anyway, I showed up for the wedding and he was suddenly a great smiler. And of course, posing with his dog Bowser certainly helped. He told me at the end of the night he had been dreading the photo part, but thanks because I made it really painless. Which was the best compliment he could possibly give me. :) Alex, of course, was stunning and couldn’t be happier. Such a fun party – I think I actually stayed a little longer than I was supposed to because I was enjoying photographing the crowd so much on the dance floor. As always, beautiful Historic London Town provided so many perfect backdrops. I really do love it there!

Shout-out to Bowser, one of my favorite client doggies to date. He came running over to me when I arrived at the dock to take pictures of the guys, and then he did a great job of posing with Chase and his friends. Such an easy-going dog, and who doesn’t love watching a bulldog run? Adorable.

Brynn & Matt – Federal Hill Baltimore Engagement Photography

So many smiles and laughs from these guys! Brynn and Matt wanted to do engagement photos mostly to get comfortable with the process of having their photo taken. They thought they’d be awkward and uncomfortable, but as you can see, it was quite the opposite! They could not have been better models, and I loved how sweet they are together. We had fun walking around Federal Hill park and its random side streets finding so many pretty things to stand in front of. :) I know it’s going to be a busy few months for them (new jobs, selling their house, and moving to San Francisco – all before the wedding!) but I know they will conquer in style. Can’t wait to get them in front of my camera again in August!

Kristin & Robbie – Early Mountain Vineyards Wedding Photography

Okay. Where to begin with this one? This wedding was one of those where everything just seemed to align perfectly and it was a truly charmed day. The time and effort that went into this wedding blew my mind! Kristin coordinated everything and made nearly all of the details herself, and wow, so awesome!

Changing the subject entirely, but can we talk about how Kristin hiked up a massive hill to this crazy awesome barn IN HER FOUR-INCH HEELS? I said, “Do you have like another pair of shoes you want to wear while you walk and swap at the top?” Nope! She was good to go, through the rough grass and hole-y ground. Totally worth it, because the photos are some of my favorites ever!

I also want to give a special shout-out to my second shooter Jess, who rocked it out with me this whole double-header weekend. Lots of these photos are hers and I couldn’t love them more! She not only helped me stay sane through back-to-back weddings, but she’s great company and kept me awake on our long drive back at the end of the night!

Kristen & Tim – Baltimore Marriott Wedding Photography

It’s like raaa-eee-aaain on your wedding day… When the clouds got darker and it started pouring the afternoon of Kristen and Tim’s wedding, Kristen and her bridesmaids stayed totally calm, smiled through it all, and sang along to “Ironic” by Alanis Morisette. I think there could have been a tornado outside and Kristen would have just kept smiling. It was like the rain didn’t matter. And really, it didn’t. She was still marrying Tim regardless, and that was the most important thing. I loved her positive attitude, even as I was frantically coming up with Plan B’s and C’s in my head for where we could do indoor pictures. As it turned out, the rain let up for a sweet little 20 minute window and we were able to cross all the must-have photos off our list! Rain or no rain, this was one of the most stress-free weddings I’ve ever been to, and as a result, an incredible party! Other notable moments include Kristen busting out an awesome (and unexpected) choreographed dance with her father, and plenty of people being raised in chairs at the reception (without Hava Nagila being played!) So fun. I also managed to grab what I think is my new most-favorite ring shot – I love it! Thanks also to Serena of Love by Serena for second shooting this one with me!

Lily & Tony – Trummer’s On Main Wedding Photography

I’ve been looking forward to Lily and Tony‘s wedding for a long time! Lily heard about me from Anne, one of my previous bride’s sisters. And it turns out Anne and Lily work with my friend Laura, who I went to college in Texas with and whose wedding I also photographed a couple years ago! Small world. :) So it was fun to shoot a wedding where I knew some of the guests! But back to Lily and Tony… what I admire most about them is their go-with-the-flow attitude and easy laughs. They were nice enough to trust me when I said I wanted to do photos in the parking lot and also the cute little antique shop across the street. I knew after their engagement photos that this wedding was going to be a super fun time, and sure enough, I got so many great expressions and smiles.

Adelaide – 4 yr old (and family shoot!)

I met this lovely family about two years ago when I photographed them as a part of OpLove for Eddie’s deployment. Then I also got to be a part of the joyous homecoming when they welcomed him back. So when Megan emailed to ask if I’d do photos for Adelaide’s fourth birthday and update their family picture, I was thrilled! It’s been fun to see the girls grow up over the years and seriously this session could not have gone any better. Adelaide is adorable with her dimples, and Amelia is such a helpful big sister. I really love this family and wish them all the best as they begin a new chapter of their lives in Oregon!
